in memory, 3 years later:

in memory,
kendall lui.

the 4th is just not the same for my family. i've mentioned this before on my cousin's birthday, but this july 4th marks the 3rd year she was taken from us.

she was with some friends at the river. the driver was drunk, and he crashed into a pole. my cousin and another young man were gone instantly. they weren't even drinking.

i will always question why something like this happened. she was only 19. kendall was studying at ucsd and brian was at berekley. they would have graduated this year. tragedy happens, sadly as we know all too well. my aunt and brian's mom are interviewed here telling their story of what happened. she was a beautiful dancer, and i'm posting this video of her once again.

we miss you, cousin.
you will never be forgotten.

i hope you all have a safe holiday.

Drunk Drivers make me so upset and angry. I am sorry that your cousin was taken so young, but I am sure that for her brief life, God used her to impact those around her.

What a graceful dancer. This is such a captivating video.

My friend, loss is never easy, there are never words to say to a heart that still hurts like yours does. All I can say is that my heart hurts with you, and God's does too.

I'm so sorry about your cousin. It's so senseless and tragic, to lose someone who is so young.

On of my very best friends died in a car crash when she was only 18, only 2 years ago. There's not a night that goes by that I don't tell Liz I love her and miss her with all my heart.

Our beautiful girls may have had short lives, but they mades ours better. There is something to be grateful for in that.

My thoughts are with you. It's so hard to lose someone you love so unexpectedly.

My grandmother and cousin we're both killed in a car accident on July 4th 8 years ago. I was with them both just 15 mins before it happened. Though it's been a long time now, the pain never goes away. Every time I see someone swerving because they are intoxicated, ESPECIALLY on a holiday, I get so angry.
But all we can do is keep hoping people will learn some self-control.

Hello. I've read your post and it was touching. I've seen the video and it was heart wrenching. I may not have known her but through you I get to, even if it's just a glimpse of what it is about her. I watched her video and she dances beautifully.

So very sad - and what a waste of young, precious life. This post really moved me - as you say, she really was a beautiful dancer. I am pleased for you and your family that you have this video to look back on, and remember.
